ABOUT US

Ingenuity Design Group (IDG) is my freelance web design company. My career to web design and development was a long winding one through a finance career, motherhood and then my discovery of html. In 2003, I combined my photography skills with my newly found interest in web coding when I developed an html based Year Book for my son's preschool class. After deciding life is too short to go back to a career (finance) that in truth bored me to tears, I made the decision to go back to school to study graphic and web design.

I pursued a Certificate in Visual Communication: Digital Multimedia and Web Design from Clark University CC. In 2005, I began freelancing in the web design & development arena. I also worked in a small web design company before continuing on my own. With my finance background in business, I bring a mix of “left brain, right brain” skills—financial management as well as design/coding—into my web design business.

After all, a web site is in the end only useful if it helps fulfill an organization's strategic goals. A web site after all is said and done is just another business tool albeit an important one and today, an indispensable one. At its best a site communicates what your company is to your current and potential clients. It should also work hard for you.

In many cases today, it is the first time your company is “viewed” by your customer. It is important that this first impression be the one you want to make. Even if someone finds you through word of mouth or the old Yellow pages, more than likely they will jump onto the web to check you out.

Web Design & Development is a fast evolving industry. As such, continuing education is of vital importance. In this industry, education never ends. I constantly update and extend my skills by studying formally and informally and maintaining an awareness of trends.
